Introduction

The MAC API 608 two-piece ball valve is a highly reliable industrial workhorse engineered specifically for demanding process plant environments. Constructed with a robust side-entry, split-body design, MAC’s two halves are bolted securely together, balancing structural strength with relatively straightforward maintenance. Typically operating as a floating ball configuration, the internal ball is supported by two sealing seats, allowing line pressure to naturally push the ball against the downstream seat to achieve a completely bubble-tight shutoff. Available from MAC in both full and reduced-port options, its heavy-duty wall thickness and oversized drivetrain provide a minimum 2x safety factor for stem torsional strength, meaning it can handle high-cycle operations and high operating torques without risking structural distortion.
